PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic setting method wherein a transmission timing to a base station can be automatically adjusted, the installation construction work of a terminal can be performed easily, the reexamination of the setting of the terminal to be executed whenever the number of base stations is increased can be eliminated, and the concentration of a traffic operation can be improved. SOLUTION: In a fixed subscriber terminal device 104 which is applied to a WLL system using a TDMA system or a TDD duplex operating system, the electric field strength of a reception from the base station 103 is detected by a radio part 110. In a control unit 112, the initial value of the transmission timing is decided according to the electric field strength of the reception, the transmission timing which is communicable with the base station 103 is retrieved while the transmission timing is being deviated from the initial value, and the retrieved transmission timing is stored and set in a data storage part 114 as a nonvolatile memory.
