PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for control, which opens a picture displayed on a display device such as a programmable display device to the public through the Internet without the need for storing picture data by a host computer or the like. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a request of displaying picture data from a client unit 9, an open server section 16 of the host computer 1 makes a request to the programmable display device (display device) 2 to transfer designated picture data (e.g. picture data of user screen displayed on the display device 2 at present). A data processing section 21 of the display device 2 extracts the picture data from a user memory 27 and uploads the data to the host computer 1. A file conversion section 14 converts the picture data into an HMTL/ XML file and stores the HMTL/XML file into HMTL/XML file storage sections 15a, 15b. Transmitting the file by the open server section 16 to the client unit 9 allows the client unit 9 to display the picture data.
