PURPOSE: A tension adjuster of an automatic chain of a bicycle is provided to support a chain by automatically lifting up a roller or a gear when a chain is loosened. CONSTITUTION: A bracket(3) having an upward protruded fixing hook(2) is fixed on one front face of a body(1). A bent portion(4) is formed on the rear face of the body. A chain support roller(5) is rotatably installed on a shaft(6). On the front end of the shaft, a ratchet gear(7) is engaged with a click(9) elastically supported on a coil spring(8). A roller or a gear(10) having a diameter similar to the diameter of the chain support roller is placed symmetric to the chain support roller on a lower shaft(11) of the ratchet gear. The gear rotates at the lower end of a bracket(13) via a central shaft(12). An upper end and a lower end(15b) of a coil spring(17) elastically supporting the bracket are fixed on a central cross bar(14) of the bracket. A hose(18) for supplying oil is connected to the roller. When a chain(16) is loosened, the bracket is automatically lifted up by the elasticity of the coil spring. The chain is supported on the bracket.
