PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image display device and a recording medium that can properly reproduce colors, even if the lightness of an external lighting is changed. SOLUTION: In the image display device that applies desired image processing to received image data to display an image, a measurement means measures an in-darkroom output characteristic of the image display device in a darkroom and an under lighting output characteristic of the image display device under a lighting with prescribed luminance and characteristics approximating means approximates the under lighting output characteristics to the in-darkroom output characteristic within a desired input gradation range of the input image data. Then a correction curve generating means generates a correction curve, on the basis of the approximated under lighting output characteristics and applies image processing to the input image data, on the basis of the correction curve generated. |
