PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a decision of a color of a color patch becoming uniform in a device color space or a standard color space. SOLUTION: A method for forming the color chart comprises a step of forming the color chart constituted of a combination of a plurality of color materials used for an output unit in the device color space, a step of forming a color area by plotting the patches of the chart in the standard color space, and a step of selecting the patch so that the patches are uniformly distributed in the area.
