PURPOSE: A book file is provided to improve the coupling force between a base plate and a fastener while simplifying the structure of the file, thus improving the fastening stability of the file. CONSTITUTION: The book file consists of a base plate(11) having an extended guide piece(13) on both sides, and a fastening plate(12) formed with an insertion hole(14) through which the guide piece of the base plate is fitted and a slidable coupling member(121) for compressing the guide piece. The guide piece consists of a flat portion(131) and a rack portion(132) formed with plural recesses. The insertion hole is provided with an inward projection(141) to be fitted in the recess of the rack portion.
