PURPOSE: An illumination light remote monitoring method and system is provided to achieve an improved data transmission efficiency over a data communication network. CONSTITUTION: A remote monitoring method comprises a first step of dividing illumination lights into one or more monitor groups; a second step of determining operation state of illumination light for each monitor group, based on the quantity of state indicating operation state of illumination light; a third step of determining operation state of each monitor group, based on the operation state of illumination light determined in the unit of monitor group; a fourth step of transmitting, over a data communication network(50), the determined operation state of the monitor group to a remote monitor device having a predetermined operation state output unit; and a fifth step of outputting the transmitted operation state of the monitor group through the operation state output unit.
