Grafted acrylic polymer contains: (A) 91-99.4 mol.% of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid (or its salt) derivative, (B) 0.1-4 mol.% of pentaerythritol tetrakis mercapto- propionate (B1) or -acetate (B2) derivative, and (C) 0.5-5 mol.% of alkyl ester of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid derivative (optionally), with (D) 30-60% of carboxylic acid groups esterified with polyethylene glycol monoether.
