PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the precision of extracting high frequency components and reduce the processing time when an electronic camera employing an image pickup device for AF control, etc., is used. SOLUTION: This electronic camera has a main image pickup device 18 which picks up an image to be recorded in a recording medium, an auxiliary image pickup device 21 which is provided separately from the main image pickup device, by which image information used for at least one among focus control, exposure control, and color temperature control is obtained, and which comprises a plurality of pixels arranged into a matrix shape, and changing means 22 and 24 which change a relative position relation between the auxiliary image pickup device and the incident light to the auxiliary image pickup device. |
