PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively stop an electrolyte remaining on an insulating separator from oozing out to the upper surface of a sealing member. SOLUTION: This battery has an electrode body 1 having a separator 1C installed between a positive plate 1A and a negative plate 1B, an armoring can 2 housing the electrode body 1, the sealing member 3 airtightly closing the opening part of the armoring can 2 through a gasket 4, and the insulating separator 5 located inside the armoring can 2 and installed between the electrode body 1 and the sealing member 3 to insulate the electrode body 1. The insulating separator 5 installed between the sealing member 3 and the electrode body 1 has an electrolyte draining-down part 7 for draining down and removing an electrolyte 14 remaining on the upper surface, and prevents the electrolyte 14 from oozing out when the sealing member 3 is fixed by crimping.
