PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an electric current characteristic. SOLUTION: This alkaline battery consists of a positive electrode mix 2 based on manganese dioxide, a negative electrode mix 4, a separator 3 disposed between these mixes 2, 3, and an alkaline water solution. On the surface of the separator 3 to which the positive electrode mix 2 is applied, the alkaline water solution 11 of cross-link type polymer having gelatinizing ability is arranged, thereby improving adhesion between the positive electrode mix 2 and the separator 3, and realizing stability to improve the electric current characteristics.
