PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device holding apparatus improved to fix a device and hence not only to expedite more surely fixed connection to a retaining site but also to prevent fluctuation and undesired movement of the device. SOLUTION: The device holding apparatus comprises a housing suitable to mount an information processing system device and the retaining site installed in the housing. In this case, the retaining site is suitable to engage the system device within the housing when the device is installed in the housing. The apparatus also comprises a selecting mechanism suitable to fix the device to the housing. The mechanism is slidably coupled so as to move between a first position and a second position. Accordingly, when the mechanism is moved from the first position to the second position, the mechanism is contacted with the retaining site to thereby fix the device to the housing.
