PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem such that it is difficult for an Internet user to retrieve information since it is impossible to ask the user for retrieval know-how equivalent to that of a data base search engineer. SOLUTION: An information retrieving device 10 is provided with a condition relaxing part 16 and a condition applying part 18. The condition relaxing part 16 erases any keyword imposing a condition which is more strict than necessary from among initial keywords inputted by a user, and the condition applying part 18 converts the subjective keyword of the user into an objective expression suitable for retrieval.
