PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the interruption of communication caused by a bad condition of electric wave between a wireless master machine and a slave machine when the gauge examination is executed from a gauge examination center. SOLUTION: A water meter 3 is wirelessly examined once a day, for example, at 0 o'clock by the master machine 2A through a slave machine 4A. When the gauge examination can not be executed because of the bad condition of electric wave, the gauge examination is tried again every four hours. The data examined in a good condition of electric wave is stored in a control part 2a. When the automatic gauge examination is executed by a telephone circuit through a T-NCU in the gauge examination center not shown in a drawing, the master machine 2A transmits the gauge examination data stored in the control part 2a to the gauge examination center through the telephone circuit. Whereby the retrying of the communication for gauge examination becomes unnecessary, and the cost for communication can be reduced. Further the number of meter terminals per one center can be increased.
