PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive tracking antenna system that calculates proper correction value for the direction of an antenna, in a short time, which is directed to a communication satellite. SOLUTION: The tracking antenna system 1 is provided with an antenna 2 having a directivity, an instruction device that has 3 rotary shafts in different directions to orientate the antenna 2, an axis rotary angle calculation device 6, a communication satellite position information calculation device 7 that calculates the direction, in which one satellite is to be observed from an installed position of the antenna, a received radio wave intensity measurement device 8 and a step-track correction device 9 that corrects the direction of the antenna so as to receive the radio waves at the maximal intensity point, and also with an error estimating device 10 that applies step-track corrections to the satellite in a plurality of attitudes, so as to automatically estimate the tracking error correction value.
