PIEZOELECTRIC TRANSFORMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric transformer with excellent output characteristics which can be miniaturized while maintaining high output and low loss. SOLUTION: On one side in the lengthwise direction of the piezoelectric ceramic plate of a length L and a width W whose main surface is rectangular, the input electrode of about a half of the length is provided. An output electrode is provided on an end face on the opposite side and L/W is turned to 0.88 to 1.05. Miniaturization is realized by utilizing the vibration of a symmetry plane spreading mode and also there is the merit that secondary capacitance can be increased as well.
