PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively dissolve such a disadvantage that a magnetic tape wrinkles to be deformed, or a traveling position becomes unstable. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cartridge 1 has two tape guides 31 and 34 which change direction so that a magnetic tape is wound around a pair of tape reels 9 and 10 installed with the axial direction rendered vertical at the rear end side of a cartridge case 2, respectively, and two tape guides 32 and 33 which guide the tape obliquely from the tape reel 9 installed in the front end side of the cartridge case 2 so that the axial direction is tilted at a predetermined tilting angle to the other tape reel 10. Two tape guides 31 and 34 at the side of the rear end are installed in the lower half of the cartridge case, and two tape guides 32 and 33 at the side of the front end of the cartridge case 2 are held by bases 36 and 37 provided in the lower half and the upper half 4, respectively and extending in parallel at a predetermined tilting angle.
