PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to make a stable discharge even if the lamp inside diameter is made small in the rare gas discharge lamp. SOLUTION: An outer electrode is installed on the outer surface of the glass tube bulb, and an inner electrode is painted or made a conductive metal tape on the inner surface of the above glass tube bulb, and by the dielectric barrier discharge between the both electrodes and by making small the loss by dielectric (bulb), the discharge starting voltage and lamp voltage are reduced and the pressure of filling gas is increased. As the distance between the electrodes of the outer electrode and inner electrode is made small in this structure, the filling pressure of the rare gas and the mixed rare gas is increased even if the lamp inside diameter is made small. The sealing material is made of glass and the inner electrode contains glass content.
