PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the friction load of the contact surface of a hook provided on a platform latch lever and a cover of a magnetic recorder. SOLUTION: The magnetic recorder has a platform 4 provided with a motor to rotate a magnetic head assembly and a magnetic disk, a platform latch lever 5 which holds the platform 4 in a position which enables magnetic recording, the hook 8 which is latched by the platform latch lever and is provided on the cover, and a plunger to release the latch lever 5. A fixed membrane lubricant 17 is applied on the surface of hook 8 coming into contact with the latch lever. Therefore, the friction load can be reduced without being influenced by the roughness of a hook substrate.
