PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten computing time while maintaining high positioning accuracy of two images to be the objects of comparison in an image positioning method. SOLUTION: In positioning the first image P1 to the second image P2 on the basis of the second image P2, template matching is performed between a large number of small regions (search ROI) set to the first image P1, and a large number of small regions (template ROI) set to the second image P2, to obtain the shift quantity of (the center picture element of) each search ROI. With each search ROI as the center, the shift quantity of the center search ROI and the shift quantity of each surrounding search ROI are restrained by spring restraint, and the shift quantity of the center search ROI is corrected to balance the restraint. |
