Image recognition system has one or more processing modules formed by a network of interconnected processing elements (neurons), each delivering an output signal that is a function of its input image. The inputs and outputs are connected by liaison elements forming projections between the various processing modules for transmitting signal impulses. An additional output module delivers an output signal when a reference image has been recognized in a presented image.
