PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader that can obtain satisfactory image data of a read object by reducing uneven density specific to each imaged position caused in each split image due to an optical factor or precision of a mechanical shutter, when one imaging is used to image the read object a plurality of number of times and to obtain the split images. SOLUTION: Correction data for each imaging position are stored and dispersion in the density caused in a read image at each imaging position is corrected on the basis of the correction data (#23 and #26). Thus, uneven density specific to each imaging position caused in each read image due to the optical factor or the like can be reduced.
