Biological treatment of aqueous effluents comprises nitrification and de-nitrification stages during which effluents are subjected to alternating anoxic and aerobic stages, forming aerobic/anoxic sequence, with aerobic stages involving contact with oxygenated gas, and, for at least one stage, with super-oxygenated gas; this contact being stopped when dynamic analysis indicates end of nitrification point.
