HIGH SPEED DYNAMIC MEASUREMENT OF BANDWIDTH IN TCP NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for high speed dynamically measuring bandwidth in a TCP network environment in which a packet pair method can be used. SOLUTION: In this high speed dynamic measurement of bandwidth, countermeasures for eliminating delay assigned in this algorithm are adopted. The countermeasures are to prohibit the application of Nagle algorithm, to minimize the buffering of a packet by transmitting a 'push' packet just after a packet pair and to avoid Slow Start algorithm by performing priming (initialization) with a dummy packet.
