<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fax server that can generate sender information of a received electronic mail, even when the electronic mail is transferred through faxing. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of an electronic mail denoting fax transfer, the fax server generates sender information of the received electronic mail on the basis of the header of the electronic mail and descriptions in the main text and adds the sender information to image data. Specifically, the fax server generates a transmission source of the sender information, on the basis of a mail address 'from' of the header information. Furthermore, the fax server generates transmission date and time of the sender information on the basis of 'Date' of the header information. As a result, even when that the fax server fax-transfers the received electronic mail, the fax server can generate the sender information of the received electronic mail. Thus, even when the fax server acts like a relay station, a destination can identify the transmission source on the basis of the transmission source information.</p> |
