PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that trouble such as occurrence of deterioration in the work efficiency or an erroneous edition in editing an audio data file when an arbitrary file name is given to the audio data file in a data storage device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a first storage and read part for storing in and reading data from a first storage medium, a second storage and read part for storing in and reading data from a second storage medium and a control part for storing data in a first storage medium and a second storage medium while controlling the first and second storage and read parts and the control part performs control for reading a data file name having a storage medium number, route directory name part, sub-directory number and index number of a data file stored in the first storage medium and storing a data file name composed of a storage medium number, with which '1' is added to the storage medium number, route directory name, sub-directory number and index number in the second storage medium.
