PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply execute a time difference correction required to set a date and time display and the alarm date and time in a portable telephone. SOLUTION: In order to execute the date and time display based on the time of every country on a liquid crystal display 27 in the portable telephone 2, country names of a plurality of countries whose date and time is to be displayed, the priority of the date and time display regarding each of the plurality of countries and the alarm time are set in advance by a user. By a CPU 23, time information is read out from an RTC 24 built in the portable telephone 2. The read-out time information is corrected with reference to a time difference by using information in a corresponding time difference table 25 to as to obtain the date and time display based on the time of each of the plurality of countries which are set in advance by the user. The time information is then displayed on the liquid crystal display in the portable telephone according to the designation of a country from a base station 1 or according to the priority of the date and time display. Also, the alarm time which is recorded in an alarm table 26 is corrected with reference to the time difference due to a movement to a foreign country.
