PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable highly reliable header detection in the case of reproducing a DVD-RAM. SOLUTION: With a level, which applies the offset of a prescribed level to integrating outputting integrating a push-pull signal, as a threshold, a header area is detected by comparing this threshold with the push-pull signal. Thus, since the threshold is generated on the basis of integrated outputting of the push-pull signal, a level following the offset of the push-pull signal can be maintained as a threshold. Therefore, the header detection can be more exactly performed.
