<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a compression rate of graphic data such as mask data or layout data. SOLUTION: Graphics are classified according to the relationship of the kinds and arrangement positions of the graphics, and grouped into the sets of the classified graphics. Then, whether or not the group of the graphics in which two graphics are arranged and gathered should be generated as a new cell is discriminated, and whether or not the graphics of each group of the set of the classified graphics should be replaced with the quotation of a cell is discriminated. When the new cell is generated, the graphic at a reference position is defined as a reference graphic, and the remaining graphic is defined as an appended graphic, and the reference graphic is replaced with the quotation of the cell.</p> |
