PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape recording medium having heightened resistance to the shape change or the dimension deformation of a magnetic tape, a magnetic tape recording/reproducing device, a magnetic tape recording method, and a magnetic tape cassette. SOLUTION: A magnetic tape 10 is provided with servo tracks 16 from both ends of a tape width direction in a tape longitudinal direction, and a data area 12 held between the servo tracks 16. The azimuth angleθdeg. of the data track 14 of the data area 12 is 0<=θ<=tan-1(10p/a×L) when a data track pitch is p(m), a magnetic tape width is L(m), and the maximum dimension changing rate of the longitudinal direction of the magnetic tape 10 is a(%). Thus, since the azimuth angleθdeg. is established, even when the shape change or the dimension deformation of the magnetic tape 10 occurs, the data track 14 is accurately traced in the data area 12 without any off-tracks.
