PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel railroad vehicle monitoring device which enables transmission of operation information between a terminal station and a monitoring station with a high working efficiency and without the increase of a wiring work cost. SOLUTION: This diesel railroad vehicle monitoring device transmits operation information of a diesel railroad vehicle collected by a terminal station to a monitoring station, in which the information is stored and maintained. The monitoring station and the terminal station have respective wireless units used for the wireless transmission of the operation information collected by the terminal station. The monitoring station has a detection processing unit which detects a fault according to the required piece of information in the stored and maintained operation information.
