PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the peak voltage of a signal using a simple device configuration, without deteriorating the transmission characteristics or causing increase in a device size. SOLUTION: After digital modulation at a digital modulation section 101, each OFDM symbol (first OFDM symbol group), that is subjected to parallel conversion by an S/P conversion section 102, is outputted to a mapping section 103; an OFDM symbol space is expanded with an OFDM symbol, that is superposed to a predetermined number of sub carriers as '0' out of a plurality of sub carriers where the first OFDM symbol group is superposed; the same number of OFDM symbols as the number of the first OFDM symbol groups is selected in the order of small peak power from the symbol pattern of the space; the first OFDM symbol group is associated with the selected OFDM symbol; the associated, selected OFDM symbol is outputted, and the selected OFDM symbol is subjected to inverse fast-Fourier transformation at an IFFT section 104, prior to transmission.
