PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk unit which can meet the demand for size-reduction and thin-constitution while meeting mechanical high-precision demands. SOLUTION: The positions of a disk and an optical pickup are so relative that when one is considered to be a reference, the position of the other is a problem, the relative positions, therefor, are adjusted by making the fixation position, height, etc., of a spindle motor side adjustable. In concrete, the disk unit is equipped with a thread chassis (21), an assembly formed by rotatably holding a turntable and a spindle motor for driving and rotating the disk on a motor chassis (22), and fixing means for fixing the assembly at a specific position on the thread chassis (21) and, fixing means (42, 43, 62 to 64, 70, etc.), fix, in particular, the assembly (22, etc.), and thread chassis (21) so that their position relation is adjustable.
