METHOD AND SYSTEM OF DETECTING WATERMARK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system of automatically detecting whether a check is genuine or not. SOLUTION: The system and method detect and certify a watermark of a document such as a check usually including a watermark having a well-known characteristic for confirming the genuineness of the document. A digitalized image of the document is housed, and processed by a conversion for generating the frequency distribution. The frequency distribution is processed so as to discriminate a harmonic at 1 or more by comparing with a storage value related to the document and determine that a watermark exists and that this watermark is genuine.
