PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a printing processing or magnetic data writing processing to a designated position of a medium. SOLUTION: This medium processing comprises a plurality of sensors for detecting the medium to be detected; a select time resistor 1 for registering the time of selecting the sensor; a select time counter 2 for counting the time of selecting the sensor; a sensor switching counter 3 for retaining a data showing the currently selected sensor; a selector 4 for selecting the sensor; and an ON/ OFF processing part 6 for judging the ON/OFF of the sensor from the output of the sensor selected by the selecting means. This processor is characterized by in that it comprises a read skip resistor 8 for registering the time to shorten every sensor and a read skip switching part 9 for shortening the time registered in the select time resistor 1 by the time registered in the read skip register 8 and imparting the result to the select time counter 2, and the period required for the ON/OFF judgment of all the sensors is set smaller than the period of the signal imparted to a medium carrying pulse motor.
