PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photovoltaic power generation system and a control method for the photovoltaic power generation system at a low cost superior in safety and capable of preventing an electric shock accident of an intruder intruding into a restricted area and dispensing with supervision by a regular supervisor or an authorized personnel. SOLUTION: The photovoltaic power generation system is provided with the restricted area 103 including an area wherein a solar battery module is located, a means 104 for preventing an intruder from intruding into the restricted area 103, and a detecting means 105 for detecting intrusion of the intruder into the restricted area. A predetermined electric shock prevention means started by a signal outputted by the detecting means 105 at detecting the intruder is actuated to prevent the electric shock of the intruder.
