PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overlay processing method that can reduce processing time. SOLUTION: The overlay processing method includes a step where whether an overlay image has been masked by a mask image over an entire horizontal line by each horizontal line and a step where the overlay processing for one horizontal line is skipped, when it is determined that the overlay image has been masked by the mask image over the entire horizontal line.
