PURPOSE: A process of fabricating tungsten carbide particle by wet mixing is provided to prepare ultrafine tungsten carbide particle without performing milling and forming operation, which are essential in conventional dry-mixing process. CONSTITUTION: The process of fabricating ultrafine tungsten carbide particle through wet mixing includes the steps of (i) adding either particular tungsten compound(CaWO4, APT-Ammonium Para Tungstate) or tungsten-containing solution such as Na2WO4 and (NH)4WO4 into 1.5-2.0 equivalent of inorganic acid solution so as to prepare tungsten acid(H2WO4); (ii) wet-mixing of the tungsten slurry with carbon wherein the amount of carbon to be added is 2.5-4.5 equivalence based on the WO3 content and distilled water is added to slurry at a volume ratio of 1 : 0.3-1.5; and (iii) drying the resultant mixture of the 2nd step under a vacuum atmosphere of 900 to 120 0°C followed by drying it under hydrogen atmosphere of 1200 to 1600°C.
