<p>A method of inhibiting the growth of tumor cells. The method includes administering to a tumor site of a subject in need thereof a compound in an amount sufficient to inhibit the growth of the tumor cells at the tumor site, and, subsequently, exposing the tumor site to irradiation. The compound is a fullerene core substituted, optionally via a C1-50 linker, with 1-30 ionic groups.</p> |
