PURPOSE: A device for transmitting power of a twin washing machine to be driven by a single motor is provided to drive a washing tub and a dehydrating tub by a single motor for securing a sufficient valid space for the convenience of design and reduce the manufacturing cost by removing one motor. CONSTITUTION: A power transmission device for a twin washing machine to be driven by a single motor includes a driving motor mounted at a lower part of a dehydrating tub and axially mounted with a driving shaft(40), a driving pulley mounted to the driving shaft at an upper end part of the driving motor and mounted with a driving belt for transmitting power to a washing shaft of a washing tub, a driving housing(36) formed in the shape of circle to be axially mounted to the driving shaft at an upper end of the driving pulley, and formed with a guide groove opened at an upper periphery of the circular housing and slant outwardly and upwardly, sliders(38) mounted in the guide groove to be lifted, and a cylindrical clutch housing(31) received in the driving housing and having a stepped shoulder(32) on an inner peripheral part to capture an outer part of the sliders when the slider is protruded by the centrifugal force and a dehydrating shaft(33) axially mounted at an upper part for rotating a dehydrating tub. |
