STAND-BY POWER SAVING POWER SUPPLY AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A stand-by power saving power supply and a method of controlling the power supply are provided to cut power supply to circuits other than a starting switching circuit in power-saving mode so as to minimize consumption of power. CONSTITUTION: A power-saving power supply includes a starting switching circuit(40), a controller(50), and a feedback circuit(30). The starting switching circuit has the first remote control receiver(42) that provides starting power to a stand-by mode power supply in response to a power-on signal. The controller receives a control signal received through the second remote control receiver(26) to perform a function corresponding to the control signal. The feedback circuit converts the starting switching circuit into a stand-by mode or power-saving mode in response to a power-off signal from the second remote control receiver or a main power switch.
