Distortion-free representation of image elements on a curved surface, esp. a vehicle wind-screen, requires correction step for pre-correcting the image elements before display

Method involves computing location information, e.g. image points' coordinates (x,y) by programmable computer unit (22), inputting coordinates into display unit (14) and projecting image elements on to reflection surface(16). Correction step pre-corrects image elements and provides distortion-free display after reflection. Computed coordinates (x,y) of each image point are converted into processed coordinates by pre-correction program as function of distortion properties of reflection surface, in computer unit.
