The present invention is a resident data entry system (Figure 4) for automated data entry of data values stored on, or in a memory accessible by, a user's computer (i.e. "resident data"). The system preferably includes, as an example, an electronic device executing a resident data system program code (400) for initially storing and subsequently recalling the resident data. Resident data may relate to a specific user and include the name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the user (412,414,416 and 418). In a B2B scenario, the resident data may include business data (420) useful in generating and maintaining commonly used documents. Resident data may be menu driven (410), defaulted into fields, or entered by other manners.
