METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to reduce the number of drive element of X and Y drive circuits by using a logical product drive method. CONSTITUTION: A scanning process is performed to form a multitude of wall charge in a discharge space around an XY electrode line couple by applying Y scanning pulses of the first polarity to Y electrode lines of XY group couples and X scanning pulses of the second polarity. An address process is performed to erase the wall charges by applying the data signals to address electrode lines. A display process is performed to generate the display discharge from the discharge cells including the wall charges by applying display pulses to the electrode lines of the XY group couples. The second drive process is performed to execute the scanning process, the address process, and the display process in a different time. The scanning process, the address process, the display process, and the second drive process are performed repeatedly.
