PURPOSE: An electro-optical device and an electronic apparatus are provided to prevent corrosion of a connection wire or defect, and to reduce the size by adjusting the gap between connection wires. CONSTITUTION: An electro-optical device is composed of a first substrate and a second substrate superposed on each other; a seal(6) bonding the first substrate and the second substrate around the display area; plural connection terminals(71) formed on an extension part of the first substrate extended from the second substrate; and plural connection wires(70) connecting the display area to the connection terminals. The distance between connection wires is set to be smaller inside the seal than outside the seal. Corrosion of the connection wire out of the seal is prevented, and the size of the liquid crystal display is reduced with reducing the gap between connection wires inside the seal.
