The lock structure for a swing flap, and especially the hood (2) for a vehicle engine compartment, is a lock or hinge with one section secured to the chassis (K) and another section to release the hood to swing open. The first section has a spring damper (14) or a body with plastic distortion, for increased passive security, which can be deflected to release the hood. The multi-linkage hinge (1) has at least two links (8,10) which connect the hood to the chassis, where one link (10) has a length adjustment for deflection against a holding spring (13).
