METHOD FOR DISCHARGING TREATMENT OF SLAG IN GASIFICATION OF WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for carrying out discharging treatment of slag by which batch operations required to take out the slag produced in a high- temperature gasifying furnace to the outside of the system can be automated and safely and surely performed with a high efficiency in the method for gasifying organic wastes comprising primarily gasifying the organic wastes at a low-pressure gasifying furnace, secondarily gasifying the resultant gaseous material in a high-temperature gasifying furnace and recovering a useful gas and the slag. SOLUTION: This method for gasifying treatment of the wastes comprises a step of collecting the slag produced in a quenching chamber 6 under the high-temperature gasifying furnace in a downward slag lock hopper 11 against high-pressure water and a step of receiving the slag collected in the slag lock hopper 11 in a slag pot 25 and slowly discharging the slag together with water. A first series of operations to collect the slag in the slag lock hopper 11 and discharge the slag and a second series of operations to receive the slag in the slag pot 25 and discharge the slag are performed as a mutually independent series of operations, in interlocked manner and carried out in parallel.
