PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and a liquid residual amount detecting device capable of accurately detecting the residual amount of developer by measurement. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with a developing device where an electrostatic latent image formed on an image supporting body is developed with high-viscosity developer obtained by dispersing toner in insulating liquid, and is provided with the liquid residual amount detecting device detecting the residual amount of the developer. The liquid residual amount detecting device is provided with a temperature-sensitive element whose resistance value is changed in accordance with the temperature, and the temperature-sensitive element has long shape and is arranged in a changing direction where the liquid level of the developer gets high/low.
