The engine has an auxiliary gearbox coupled to the end of the engine crankshaft via a switchable clutch (K1, 10) and to an electric machine operated as an electric motor or current generator and a planetary gearbox between the auxiliary drive gearbox and crankshaft. An auxiliary gearbox drive wheel (1) is rigidly connected to a planetary gearbox hub (2) rotatably mounted on the crankshaft (14) via an overriding clutch (K2, 5). An external tooth flex ring (1) is arranged between the sectionally elliptical hub and two adjacent internal teeth hollow wheels (7,8). The switchable coupling is arranged between the first hollow wheel and an engine housing aperture and the second hollow wheel is rigidly attached to the crankshaft. |
