ANTISENSE PEPTIDE HAVING HIV-1 INFECTION INHIBITORY ACTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel antisense peptide that has HIV-1 infection inhibitory action and an HIV infection inhibitor that contains the peptide as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The objective antisense peptide is a synthetic peptide that has the amino acid sequence in the gp 41 of HIV-1. The antisense peptide to the amino acid sequence in T20 that has been shown to have the strong inhibitory action against the HIV-1 infection is searched to synthesize the resultant candidate peptide modified with four flanking amino acids at the N-terminus and the C-terminus of the candidate antisense peptide. Then, these modified peptides are actually examined on the HIV-1 infection inhibitory action whereby a modified peptide (VVLVNVTENFNMWK) has been found that it has the HIV-1IIIB infection inhibitory action with a dose of 10μG/ml.
